3D CAD Design
Using SolidWorks for designing the Primos Dogg Catcher hardware is a smart choice because it's great for this type of project. We came up with more than 10 different design ideas before settling on the final one, which was a time-consuming process. However, our streamlined approach helped us design things faster, making the whole process more efficient. This approach ensures that our product meets all the requirements and functions well.
Product Prototyping
Furthermore, we provide comprehensive 3D Prototyping services. As demonstrated below, we have successfully 3D printed the Trophy Cam, enabling us to gain a tactile understanding of the product. This hands-on approach not only enhances our analytical thinking but also offers an in-depth comprehension of the product's design and functionality. Through 3D prototyping, we refine our designs, validate concepts, and ensure that the final product meets the highest standards of quality and performance.

Final Production Model
Upon completing the entire design process, including 3D drawings, prototyping, and receiving the client's final approval, we move forward to the crucial phase of creating the Final Production Model. This stage involves collaborating with carefully selected manufacturers who possess the expertise and precision needed for tooling. The choice of manufacturer is pivotal, as they employ high-quality tools and advanced techniques to ensure the production process meets the highest standards.
By partnering with reputable manufacturers, we proactively address any potential production issues, detecting and rectifying them at an early stage. This commitment to quality control guarantees that the final product adheres to the exact design specifications and offers the level of excellence that both we and our clients expect. Through meticulous attention to detail and a collaborative approach, we ensure that the journey from concept to the Final Production Model is characterized by precision, quality, and successful execution.

Sales & Distribution
Following the successful creation of the Final Production Model, the next phase involves global distribution. Indeed, distributing a well-designed, high-quality product worldwide becomes an advantageous endeavor. Vendors and distributors are naturally inclined to embrace products that possess superior design and quality attributes, as these factors significantly enhance the overall appeal and value of the product.
The reputation of a meticulously designed and top-quality product speaks for itself, facilitating the distribution process. Vendors are more enthusiastic about showcasing and selling products that resonate with consumers' preferences, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business. The combination of exceptional design, quality, and functionality creates a competitive edge that appeals to a broad range of markets and regions.
Ultimately, the collaborative efforts invested in crafting an outstanding product, from concept to distribution, culminate in a global journey marked by efficiency, customer satisfaction, and a favorable market reception.

3D Printing
We utilized an advanced industrial-grade 3D printer, specifically the larger version of the MC400 from Stratasys, renowned for its precision and versatility in handling materials like ABS and polycarbonate. For this project, we opted for polycarbonate due to its durability and strength, printing a total volume of 35 cubic inches in polycarbonate, with an additional 12.6 cubic inches for support materials. The printing process took approximately 60 hours to complete. It's worth noting that if we had chosen ABS, the printing time would have been shorter, as ABS requires less heat to melt compared to polycarbonate. However, we decided on polycarbonate for its superior properties, despite a slightly tighter tolerance of 0.007 inches, which is 0.004 inches more than ABS.

After an extensive 60-hour printing process, which spans two and a half days, the 3D print job is finally completed. During this time, the brown support structures were crucial in maintaining the integrity of the main components, preventing any distortion or separation. These support materials play a vital role in ensuring that the intricate design of the Dogg Catcher is accurately reproduced in polycarbonate, guaranteeing the product's durability and functionality in the field.

To begin the removal process, basic tools are employed to carefully extract the support materials from the 3D printed components. Additionally, a hot water tank is utilized when needed to facilitate the melting of support materials. It is of utmost importance to wear protective eyewear, during this phase, as support materials may snap and pose a potential risk to eye safety during removal. Prioritizing safety measures ensures a secure and efficient support material removal process.

Once all the support materials have been safely removed, the assembly phase begins. This involves meticulously putting together the various 3D printed components to construct the Primos Dogg Catcher. This assembly process is a critical step in transforming the individual parts into a functional and cohesive product ready for testing and further refinement.

Working with Manufacturer
After finalizing the 3D models, we collaborate with the manufacturer to fine-tune and prepare the product for production. The manufacturer conducts a cost estimate, identifying areas where we can optimize production costs. In some cases, such as with the battery cover, we opted to use off-the-shelf parts that serve the same function and purpose, eliminating the need for additional expenses in creating a new component. This strategic decision allows us to maintain product quality while reducing production costs, making the Primos Dogg Catcher a cost-effective and efficient solution for our customers.
The approach of utilizing existing, reliable components was extended to the remote as well. Rather than creating a new antenna, we opted for an established and readily available one that the manufacturer had in stock. This decision helps maintain the remote's reliability while streamlining production.
Regarding the design of the rubber buttons, we initially considered making them bulkier and more accessible, especially for users wearing gloves. However, the manufacturer raised a valid concern: using wider and bulkier soft rubber buttons could potentially lead to button sticking issues within the casing. To ensure a smooth user experience, we decided to strike a balance between accessibility and functionality, ensuring that the buttons are responsive without causing any operational problems. This thoughtful design choice enhances the overall usability and durability of the remote.

Indeed, before scaling up production to hundreds or even thousands of units per day, it's crucial to conduct a final review of the production model. This step allows us to thoroughly inspect the product for any potential production faults or quality issues. Identifying and addressing these concerns at this stage is not only cost-effective but also ensures that the product's quality remains consistent and meets our high standards. By taking this proactive approach, we can prevent any potential issues from reaching customers worldwide, guaranteeing a reliable and successful launch of the Primos Dogg Catcher.
